Idle server question

I won't be home much these days, so I was thinking of connecting to some idle server. The reason is, i would like to take advantage of this week doubled rate for weapons drop system. (latest tf2 update doubled the rate at which you can get a weapon or something else). So, is this cheating, do u know some ok idle server, and will i get the weapons like i'm actually playing? Thanks.

just type "idle" in the filters, searching servers on internet....

Well, i know that much
But, is that considered cheating, and are the weapons going to drop in my backpack, that's what i'm curious about.

hmmm no... there was a program, that allowed to you to idle in tf2 and play another steam games...that was cheating...
but idle is ok, u'll recive the weapons like in a normal play.

idling is ok. Valve introduced a new drop system time ago so you can't drop more than a fixed amount of items
